SINZ is currently applying to become an incorporated Society.
Stakeholders
SINZ recognises the security operators and professionals who work in the wider security industry as well as those who operate in the volunteer sector working towards a safer and secure New Zealand communities. Our stakeholders include the businesses and people of New Zealand, security industry personnel and companies, community safety and security organisations, The New Zealand Police & New Zealand Government agencies.
Structure & Governance
SINZ is designed to be a relatively lean Institute in order to ensure effective and efficient leadership, reduce costs and ensure a consistent approach. There are three levels within the SINZ structure:

- National Reference Group
- Sector Advisory Groups

National Reference Group
A National Advisory Group is being established. This group includes leaders of organisations and champions within security sectors throughout New Zealand. The National Reference Group is selected by the Committee. The group is a national point of reference for input into the strategic direction of SINZ and to ensure SINZ meets the needs of the various aspects of the industry. .

Codes of Practice Advisory Group
The first Sector Advisory Group is currently considering the Codes of Practice necessary in the security industry as well as the associated Auditing of security companies and individuals against the Codes.
